Why You’ll Love This Yogurt Parfait

  • Quick 5 Minute Recipe! This is a real 5 minute recipe that doesn’t require any baking or fancy equipment to put together.
  • Packed with Protein: Each serving has about 15g of protein mostly from the Greek Yogurt (12g) and Granola (2-3g).
  • Easy Meal Prep: These yogurt parfaits are the perfect grab-and-go snack or a simple healthy recipe to make in bulk for meal prep.
  • Very Customizable: This recipe is super versatile – add extra honey, change up the fruit, or top with some of my strawberry compote!

Ingredient List

  • Greek Yogurt: Full fat greek yogurt is my first choice when making a parfait. It’s the creamiest yogurt option in my opinion. With that said, you can always chose to sub in a low fat option, use a flavoured yogurt, or lactose free. Quick Tip: Switching the Greek Yogurt to a low fat yogurt or flavoured yogurt likely won’t change the protein levels much, but will make a difference with the calorie count.
  • Granola: A good granola is typically made up of rolled oats, nuts, seeds, sweeteners, and sometimes dried fruits. Your options are endless when choosing what type of granola to add to your Strawberry Yogurt Parfait. I tend to gravitate towards the lighter variations without all the extras.
  • Fresh Strawberries: Fresh, locally sourced strawberries are my go-to and always a welcome addition to a healthy breakfast.
  • Sweeteners: Maple syrup and honey make great natural sweeteners. If you’re looking for even more strawberry flavour, an easy strawberry compote could be a big flavour boost to this yogurt parfait. I’ve got an East 4-Ingredient Strawberry Compote recipe that you should try as a topper!

How to Make A 5-Minute Strawberry Yogurt Parfait

  1. Wash the Fresh Strawberries: Before cutting into your strawberries, it’s important to thoroughly wash and clean your fruit. This helps remove dirt, bacteria, pesticides, and unwanted debris. I do this by rinsing my fruit in my colander strainer, then placing them on a dishtowel to let them dry off.

  1. Cut the Strawberries: On a cutting board, hull and trim your fresh strawberries and cut them into quarters. If you don’t like big chunks of fruit with your yogurt parfait, you can slice them into small cubes which will make it easier to scoop out with your spoon!

  1. Add Sweeteners (Optional Step): Before adding any yogurt or fruit, drizzles some honey or maple syrup along the inside of your cup or mason jar. This will make sure the sweetener gets evenly coated onto every spoonful.

  1. Build the layers Start building your yogurt parfait by layering about an inch of yogurt, then strawberries, and finally your granola. Keep building your yogurt parfait in layers until you get to the top of your cup, then add a fresh strawberry for garnish!

Can you Meal Prep a Yogurt Parfait?

Yes, you can absolutely meal prep a strawberry yogurt parfait and it’s incredibly easy, however there is one major difference. Unlikely most meal preps where you’d combine everything into one jar or container to store it, these ingredients are best stored separately. This helps keep the yogurt and fruit fresh for longer, and the granola crunchy.
